Levi!

LEVI

Johnny's Vizsla

Keeping right along with my current favorite/only topic of paint - A. Warhol dogs.

About a Boy - I started dating Johnny in September of 2012, therefore it was only time before I forced him to accept a painting from me and display it somewhere in his room. Whether he wanted to or not, it was going to happen.
When pressured, requested a painting of his beloved dog, Levi. Levi is a rambunctious 3.5 year old vizsla with more love and energy than the 2 foot tall, overall wearing, co-stars in a Pixar film (see: Despicable Me).

Here he is!

I will upload a few more close up images once I have a little more time.

Here is his portrait!

What do you think? Tired of the colorful dog portraits? I hope not.. because there's a boxer in the making right now.

What would you rather see painted? Let me know!

Neon Bull Dog Love

Wow it's been entirely too long since i've posted on this thing.
Although, I can't feel entirely too guilty considering I am one of the two readers
... (thanks, Mom).

So I just realized I never posted the acrylic painting I made of
my old room-mates English Bulldog, Wilbur Goldberg
After a total of two paintings made for this gem
(one for his mother, one for me) just when you think i've maxed out my capacity for
bulldog art...  I get handed another English Beauty project.

Round 2 features the beautiful Pheobe Alejandro Holder
Pheobe's Mom is a friend of mine from A&M, her boyfriend
asked me to paint her as a Christmas present! It was one of the
sweetest reason's i've ever painted anything. I was very flattered.
So here are the results.

What do you think about English Bulldog art? Mom? Anyone?

Marilyn Monroe

For a couple personally illusive reasons, my latest painting (of which I pretend I can take credit for; FYI I'm a
walking pillar for counterfeit originality (See: Everything i've ever painted)) was an obstinate pick.

First of all, i'm far too naive and not quite dexterous enough to appreciate B&W paintings.  Mostly due to the irony of the concept, I think. Reference, Pocahontas. She didn't advise we Paint with only the colors of the asphaltAs far as i'm concerned the colors of the wind extend beyond ROYGBIV, and certainly surpass those reflective of salt and pepper. I'm just trying to be a Disney Princess here.

Secondly, I have never been a huge Marilyn Monroe fan. Pun intended. Why? Not sure really, probably because she's blond.
Catty, right? But fur real... When you're a 6th grade girl what else can you possibly have in common with famous, dead or alive, glamazons in the media besides a couple private parts and hair color?
Her, Barbie, Baby Spice, Christina Aguilar, Gwen, and all the other Golden Bombshells have their own crowd to please.
But, there's something about this tri-tone, Warhol  style that I am starting to loveI liked this picture and I love this style.
It only took about 3 days, which is very unusual for me.

Quick Life update: I'm now living in Houston and
working at Laura U, Inc. An interior design firm!
I love my job. I miss college, but only for my friends.
I don't miss school, studying, spirals, binders, or any of that.

Summer update

If you're new in town and haven't heard,
I love Pinterest.
So yes, this is definitely inspired by
one of the DIY's I found recently.
I love the color, it's fixed up a bit more after this photo
was taken, but meh, you get the idea.

Wedding art?!

Nathan & Courney - June 23, 2012
Believe it or not.. someone actually wanted me to paint them something for their wedding
Oh, I was shocked as well. This is one of those newly popular
"thumb print attendance tree's"
that are sold on etsy and elsewhere.

I will admit I used sharpie and even printed out a template for their names and the date. The rest is acrylic.

The Great Gatsby

UPDATE
Checking back in on this website, I realized that i the worst picture
of a painting.. probably of all time. So I asked my friend to retake it-

Acrylic - The Great Gatsby Cover

Still looks kind of shabby. Not in the chic way.. I need a new camera. But I don't think I can find another one that has a great phone on the other side... Oh well!

I made this painting for my best friend Chris.
This is his favorite book.

Haven't had time to paint because of finals,

Painting is my little break from reality.

Also Here is an Owl that I made with a mix of acrylic and
scrap book paper. Also a little bit of fabric.

Senior Sail

I am half way through my senior year.
It is sad, but I have had an amazing year so far.
A&M is definitely where I was supposed to go to school, for several reasons.
Mostly the people, I have the best friends you could ask for. They inspire me to
keep painting, which I have! Check out my latest, this sailboat!

I uploaded pictures to facebook of past
paintings and have actually sold a few..!
This is one of my room-mate's dog 'Wilbur'.
We love him.

Strawberry Fields Forever

Thanks to my father, I was raised loving the Beatles.
One of my favorite memories from Jr. High is waking up on
Saturday (morning/noonish) hearing "Blackbird" or "Come Together"
from the living room before brunch.
I painted this for my friend Hannah Roger's 21st birthday!

Tick Tock

Its 2011 and I'm about to start the spring semester of my Jr. year at Texas A&M.
Time is flying entirely too fast. Especially in ratio at which I am figuring out what just to do with myself come 'The Real World"
For now, I'll just stick to the usual: School, Friends, Paint.

I have recently become interested in interior decorating. Which I was never particularly good at, this became clear around the release date of Sims 2. However, my friends have called my behavior similar to those with 'anxiety'. That's fine.

I painted this circle with shapes and colors inspired by a quilt I found on Anthropology.com
I would place the link >< however I do not feel so inclined.

When my friends asked what I was working on, at the end of last semester, when I told them I was painting
I would say 'Circles'
I also made a frame with the similar pattern.

sky I had before! Hmph.

Agave Inspiration

So far I've only 'liked' about 1 of my paintings.
In other words, will hang in my own home.
This is another one of those!
Which is the center-piece of my room in my apartment.

Fleur De Automne

I recently took an interest in painting.
I'm not much of a 'blogger', but i've decided to use this as my online gallery.
This is one of my first decent sized paintings.
